AtoZ Challenge 2019 Theme Reveal: MOVIES THAT INSPIRED ME

I am taking part in the AtoZ Challenge 2019. Every year I try and failed. The word 'fail' is debatable here. My book Lolita was born from an AtoZ post. So without much ado, revealing my post for this year.

Who knows,  maybe my muse is waiting in between the pages of my blog. Wishing all the best to all the bloggers out there. ATOZ is the time for perseverance and discipline and this year, I need both of them. Happy Blogging!

Review of Doppelganger by Ruchira Khanna

The DoppelgängerThe Doppelgänger by Ruchira Khanna

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have not read many metaphysical books and this concept is very new to me. So I read this book without many expectations. The story of life and after live women into reality is very well written. Ruchira Khanna's books always hold a tinge of philosophy which I rather like. This book too is not a very easy read and it took me some time to get into it but when I did I found myself fantasizing about my own Doppelganger.

At first, I thought it was the way a young boy was dealing with his father's death. You sometimes deal with death by keeping your loved one alive in your mind. But the layers of philosophical thoughts that are hidden in this story really got me thinking. I loved the way Ruchira's pace has been steady in this book.

Review of Her Prince Charming by Sundari Venkatraman

Her Prince CharmingHer Prince Charming by Sundari Venkatraman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yet again Sundari Venkatraman has surprised me with the simplicity in her story. Tanuja can be anyone amongst us. Leading an obscure life, dominated by her stepmom and stepsisters. Yet she is a princess for she falls in love. The story of Cinderella retold again and again - yet every time you hear it, that small girl inside you feels happy. Someone found their happy ending, what's not there to like.? The story has moments where I had a lump in my throat. That good ole feeling of blessing the couple to find their destination. I like the way Ms. Venkatraman makes us have that aha moment through her characters. After reading her series, you feel they have become a part of your life and even though you already know about the happy ending, the path taken by them is the one you yearn to know. Another book by Ms. Venkatraman which will become by to go read whenever I feel the need to know that innocence still exists in the world.
